What is Gempin?
Gempin turns any city into a treasure hunt of hidden gems. Tell it your vibe, and an AI scouts under-the-radar restaurants and sights matched to your taste — the kind trending on TikTok, Instagram and Google — and pins them as Spots on your map. Get there, snap a photo to claim each Spot, and earn Gems to level up your travel character — solo or with a travel buddy.
How does Gempin find hidden gems?
Your map is generated just for you — there are no pre-made lists. An AI matches your interests and food tastes against what's buzzing on social platforms and Google, and every suggestion is verified against Google Places, so it's a real spot at real coordinates. We never scrape private data. You can also follow local creators in the app and see their picks.
Do I really have to take a photo?
Yep — that's the fun part. When you're actually at a Spot (the app checks you're close enough), you snap a live photo to claim it. It's your proof, your travel diary, and how you earn Gems, badges and streaks.
Can I play with friends?
Pair up with a travel buddy via a one-time invite code, chat in the app, and compare Gems on your leaderboard. On co-op trips a claim by either of you counts for both — or race to see who claims more. Every Spot also has likes and comments, so you can see what other hunters thought.
What are the car games?
Five quick mini-games made for the passenger seat: Trivia Sprint, Guess the City, Stadt-Land-Fluss, Emoji Places and True or False. Rounds are AI-generated fresh every game when you're online — in Stadt-Land-Fluss you can even pick your own categories and an AI referee judges the answers — and bundled question sets keep everything playable fully offline. And yes, they earn Gems too.
What are Gems?
Gems are Gempin's reward currency — earned by claiming Spots and playing games, never bought with money. Spend them in the wardrobe on outfits and boosts for your travel character, or put a hold on a Spot to save it for later; the Gems you've collected over time also drive your level and rank, so nobody can pay to win.
Which cities can I play in?
Any place you can find on a map. Search your city or your next destination and the AI builds a fresh set of Spots for it. Keep several places as trips, switch between them from the map, and tune your vibe per place.
When does Gempin launch?
